There are many reasons why you may not have had a dentist appointment in a long time. Maybe you were between insurances for a while. Maybe you couldn’t afford it for whatever reason. Maybe you’ve just switched dentists for the first time in years. Or maybe you simply forgot to schedule a follow-up appointment after your last cleaning, and now it’s been ten years. Whatever the reason for your long absence from dentist appointments, congratulations on looking into booking a new one now!

What to Bring to Your First Dentist Appointment

If you have been a customer with us before, we likely have your information still on file. In that case, all you need is whatever you require for insurance and copayments. If, however, you are a new customer, you may have to bring a few extra things to your first appointment:

  • Your insurance card. If you are on any sort of dental insurance, make sure you bring proof of that so that we can determine whether we take that insurance and how much your insurance will cover you.
  • Cash or card. If you aren’t certain that your insurance will fully cover you, or you aren’t on any sort of insurance, make sure you bring a method of payment with you when you arrive.
  • Any relevant medical history documents. If you have any noted allergies or a medical problem, bring any documentation you need for that.

Depending on how regularly you seek medical and dental treatment, some of this information may be difficult to track down. However, for most people, it is only a few documents. Once you have these, you should be ready for your first dentist appointment with us.
