Does a Root Canal Hurt?

This is one of the questions we hear most often, and the answer surprises many patients.

Modern root canals are performed using local anesthetic, so the goal is for you to be comfortable throughout the procedure. In fact, most patients tell us the toothache they had before the root canal was much worse than the treatment itself.

If you’re nervous about your appointment, let us know. We offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas), have blankets, noise-canceling headphones with streaming services, and a team that’s happy to explain every step before we begin.

Our goal isn’t just to fix your tooth. It’s to make the experience as comfortable as possible.
