What Happens After a Root Canal?

It’s normal to have some tenderness for a few days after a root canal, especially when chewing. Most patients manage this discomfort with over-the-counter pain medication and return to their normal routine the next day.

If your dentist places a temporary filling, it’s important to return for your permanent restoration as recommended. Waiting too long can increase the risk of the tooth breaking.

If you experience significant swelling, severe pain that isn’t improving, or your temporary filling comes out, give us a call.
