Can I Drive After a Root Canal?

Most patients can drive themselves home after a root canal because only local anesthetic is used.

If you’ve chosen nitrous oxide (laughing gas), you’ll typically be able to drive once the appointment is over. However, if you’ve taken oral sedation or another medication that affects your alertness, you’ll need someone to drive you home.

If you’re unsure what to expect, ask us before your appointment so you can plan ahead. Your safety is always our priority.
