Not always.
Many root canals can be completed right here in our office. However, some teeth have curved canals, complex anatomy, previous root canals, or other conditions that make treatment more challenging.
In those situations, we may recommend seeing an endodontist. An endodontist is a dentist who has completed additional years of training focused specifically on root canal treatment and diagnosing tooth pain.
Referring you doesn’t mean your case is unusual or that something is wrong. It simply means we believe you’ll receive the best possible care from the provider most experienced with your specific situation.
Our goal has always been the same: recommend what’s best for your long-term oral health, even if that means involving another trusted provider.
