Can a Crown Fall Off?

Yes, although it isn’t common.

Crowns can come loose because of decay underneath the crown, normal wear over time, heavy clenching or grinding, or if the cement holding it in place begins to fail.

If your crown comes off, don’t panic. Keep it in a safe place and bring it with you to your appointment. Avoid chewing on that tooth until we can evaluate it.

Please don’t use super glue or household adhesives to put it back on.
