Can I Eat Normally With a Crown?

Yes. Once your permanent crown has been placed and any tenderness has resolved, you should be able to eat your normal diet.

Like natural teeth, crowns can still be damaged by chewing ice, popcorn kernels, hard candy, or using your teeth to open packages.

If you tend to clench or grind your teeth, we’ll talk with you about ways to help protect your crown for the long term.

Our goal is for your crown to feel so comfortable that you forget it’s even there.
