Does Getting a Crown Hurt?

This is one of the most common questions we hear, and the answer is reassuring for most patients.

Before we begin, we’ll completely numb the tooth so you stay comfortable throughout the procedure. You may feel some pressure or vibration, but you shouldn’t feel pain.

After your appointment, it’s normal to have some mild soreness or temperature sensitivity for a few days. Most patients return to work, school, or their normal routine the same day.

If dental appointments make you anxious, let us know. We offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas), noise-canceling headphones with streaming services, blankets, and a team that’s happy to explain each step so there are no surprises.
