Why Does My Tooth Hurt After a Root Canal?

Some discomfort after a root canal is completely normal. The tissues around the tooth may be inflamed from the infection or the procedure itself, and it’s common to have tenderness when biting for a few days.

Pain should gradually improve, not get worse. If you develop significant swelling, severe pain, or symptoms that continue to worsen after several days, contact our office so we can evaluate the tooth.

Our goal is for you to heal comfortably, and we’d rather answer your questions early than have you worry at home.
