Why Does My Tooth Hurt?

A toothache doesn’t always mean you need a root canal, but it does mean something isn’t right. Tooth pain can be caused by a cavity, a cracked tooth, an infection, gum disease, wisdom teeth, clenching and grinding, or even sinus pressure. The only way to know for sure is with a dental exam.

Don’t worry about figuring out what’s wrong before you call us. That’s our job. We’ll ask a few questions about your symptoms, where the pain is located, and whether you have any swelling so we can determine how quickly you should be seen.

If you have swelling, severe pain, a fever, or difficulty swallowing, call us as soon as possible. Whenever possible, we offer same-day emergency appointments because we know tooth pain rarely happens at a convenient time.
