Some oozing is completely normal during the first several hours after an extraction. You may notice a small amount of blood mixed with saliva, which can look like more bleeding than it actually is.
Biting firmly on clean gauze usually helps control the bleeding. We’ll give you detailed instructions before you leave the office.
If you have heavy bleeding that doesn’t slow down after following our instructions, please call us right away. If you ever feel the bleeding is excessive or you cannot control it, seek immediate medical attention.
