Why Is My Face Swollen After My Extraction?

Swelling is a normal part of your body’s healing process, especially after a surgical extraction or wisdom tooth removal.

Swelling usually reaches its peak within the first two to three days before gradually improving. Applying an ice pack during the first 24 hours, followed by warm compresses if recommended, may help improve comfort.

If your swelling continues to increase several days after your procedure, or if it’s accompanied by fever or difficulty swallowing, contact our office so we can evaluate the area.
