Although crowns are very durable, they can occasionally chip or break from trauma, chewing ice, biting hard objects, or heavy clenching and grinding.
If your crown breaks, save any pieces if possible and call our office. Avoid chewing on that tooth until we’ve had a chance to examine it.
Depending on the amount of damage, we may be able to repair the crown, replace it, or recommend another treatment to protect the tooth.
If you’re unsure whether the damage is serious, give us a call. We’ll help you determine the best next step.
