Why Does My Tooth Hurt After a Crown?

A new crown may feel sensitive for a short time, especially to cold temperatures or when chewing. Mild discomfort during the healing period is normal.

If your bite feels “high,” the tooth hurts every time you bite together, or the pain continues to worsen, contact our office. Sometimes a simple bite adjustment is all that’s needed to make the crown feel comfortable.

If you’ve recently received a crown and something doesn’t feel right, don’t wait for your next cleaning. Give us a call so we can evaluate it.
