Most patients are awake during their extraction with the area completely numbed using local anesthetic.
If you’re nervous, nitrous oxide (laughing gas) may help you feel more relaxed during the procedure. Some patients with more complex treatment or significant dental anxiety may benefit from oral sedation or treatment by an oral surgeon who offers IV sedation.
